Payout Account

Navigate to Account then Payout Account to set up your payout account — you won’t be able to accept any Requests until you’ve done so!

Payouts are deposited directly into your bank account. All transactions on the Gopher Marketplace are handled through Stripe.

There are no fees for instant payouts! To receive instant payouts, you’ll need a debit card on file from a Stripe Supported Bank. If you’re a Gopher Pro/Pro+ member, you’ll be eligible for instant payouts from the start — and you’ll get your money in 1-2 minutes! If not, you can expect your first 10 payouts to come in at standard speed (12-24 hours). After that, all Gophers get upgraded to instant payouts.

Work Settings & Radius

Select More on the dashboard, then Work Settings & Radius.

Select any and all job types you prefer. You can filter Requests in your queue by amount earned, time remaining or distance from your location.

Get the DL on taking Requests.

Request Icons

Purchase Needed

The Requester needs you to buy something on their behalf. They’ll have already funded the amount needed, but you won’t be reimbursed until the job is complete — meaning you’ll have to pay for the items initially. DO NOT accept these Requests if you can’t (or don’t want to) cover the cost upfront.

Select My Gopher

The Requester will pick who they hire based on ratings, reviews and job-type history. You (and potentially other Gophers) may accept the Request — but ultimately, the Requester will have the final say. You’ll be notified either way.

9.2 mi

The number you see represents the approximate distance in miles between you and the Request location (according to Google Maps). For jobs with multiple stops, it’ll be the distance to the first location.

30m

This is the broadcast time remaining on the Request — how much time is left before it’s taken off of the available jobs queue. However, this number doesn’t indicate when the Requester needs the task completed (that’ll be posted in red).

2+ Needed

You’re gonna need at least one more Gopher to complete this Request. While these jobs are usually accepted by a labor contractor or crew leader, any Gopher is eligible as long as they meet the Request criteria and have qualified help. The Gopher who accepts the Request will be paid for the entire job.

Favorite Gopher

Wow, aren’t you special?! The Requester has designated you as one of their top choices. The Request will only be available to you and other Favorites for the first two minutes. This is a great opportunity for you to earn repeat business.

Age Restricted

You’ll have to purchase an age-restricted item. Obviously, you’ll need a valid ID to complete these Requests. You’ll also be required to verify the Requester’s ID upon delivery. Contactless delivery is NOT an option.

Request Timing

Need it now

You’ll want to get the Request completed right away.

After you accept, send the Requester a message letting them know you’re on the way and update the status of the Request to In-Progress.

Flexible

You’ll see when the Request needs to be completed, either by the end of the day, within a week or within two weeks.

After you accept, the Request will remain in your Scheduled queue until you select Start.

Scheduled

You’ll see a specific date and time for which the Request needs to be completed.

After you accept, the Request will remain in your Scheduled queue until you select Start.

Unless you’re a Gopher Pro/Pro+ member, you won’t be able to take more than one Request at a time. Once the Request has been marked as In-Progress, you won’t be able to accept any others until its scheduled date and time — so don’t start too early!

Offer Types

Earn $

Pretty straightforward — the Earn $ amount listed is exactly what you’ll make.

For example, Earn $20.00 means the job pays $20.00, and that’s what’ll be deposited into your account upon completion.

Total $
(Earn $ | Spend $)

The Requester has added funds for you to purchase items on their behalf, but they won’t be available until the job is complete —  so please DO NOT accept the Request if you’re not interested in covering the cost upfront. The Spend $ amount is that temporary out-of-pocket expense. The Earn $ amount is what you’ll actually make. Put those together and you get the Total $ amount, which is what you’ll be paid at the end.

For example, Total $20.00 (Earn $10.00 | Spend $10.00), means the job pays $10.00, but $20.00 will be deposited into your account upon completion. The additional $10.00 is to reimburse you for the cost of items.

Make Me an Offer

Sometimes, the Requester may not know what a fair offer is for a service, so they’ll ask for a bid. You’ll enter your desired Earn $ amount (and in some cases, the cost of items). If accepted, the job is yours for the price you set.

Request Actions

Need a little more info on a Request before deciding whether or not to take it? Tap Question? to DM the Requester.

Want the job, but feel the payment or cost of items needs tweaking? Propose a Counter-Offer. If accepted, the job is all yours for the new amount. Please remember to be reasonable and
fair, not greedy — for example, if a three-mile trip
is listed at $5, a $10 counter-offer would make sense… But $30 would not.

Ready to roll? Click Accept Request and get going.

Active Request Features

Once you’ve accepted a Request, you can Text and/or Call the Requester through the app using the contact buttons below their name — we recommend a quick DM to let them know you’re en route! Select Pick-Up or Destination to open up the respective addresses in Google Maps.

Question for the Requestor?

To protect everyone’s privacy, all messaging between Gophers and Requesters is done through the app. If you have a question or need clarification on a job, you can shoot them a message before accepting.

Once the Request is accepted, the connected parties can continue the dialogue in their messaging inbox.

Exchanging phone numbers, email addresses or other personal contact info on the Gopher platform is strictly prohibited.

Cost Adjustments

When a Request is broadcast with a Purchase Needed, the Requester has submitted the amount in good faith. If the actual cost of items turns out to be a bit higher, just ask for a Cost Adjustment to reflect the correct price before paying for the items. If approved by the Requester, the amount will update instantly on your end.

Updating a Request

At the bottom of your Active Request screen, you’ll find the Update button.

First, you’ll see In-Progress. Tapping this activates GPS tracking on the Requester’s end.

Next is Items Picked-Up or Items Purchased. This lets the Requester know you’re on the final stretch.

Finally, Completed signals to the Requester that the job is finished — meaning you’re one step away from your payout. As soon as the Requester confirms, you’ll be paid. If they haven’t confirmed within 48 hours, an auto-confirmation will be initiated, and you’ll receive your funds. Though they’ll receive a text from us, a friendly reminder from you can be helpful too.

Completing Age-Restricted Deliveries

When completing an Age-Restricted Delivery, you will need to scan the ID of your customer before handing over the items.

This is an agreed upon requirement communicated to the customer prior to submitting a request.

In the rare event the customer is not present at the Drop-Off Address for the delivery, you may select the “Tap here if customer is not present at drop off location…” link.

This will initiate a 10-minute timer. If the customer is not present after the timer expires, you may select “Requestor No Show” and leave with the items. You will be paid in full for the order.

Oh yeah,
and don’t forget to rate your Requester!

We always recommend adding a pic (if relevant) to verify the completion of your Request.

Etcetera.

Refer Yourself First

Now, when you share your QR code, it will automatically give your referral the ability to add you as a Favorite Gopher. You can also use the “Refer yourself” link to share with your own contacts. When they make their first request, it can be sent directly to you!

Each person you refer yourself to will instantly receive an inbox message to add you as a favorite. Of course, you aren’t obligated to accept a request when it comes to you as a favorite Gopher. It’s just another way Gopher is helping you to earn more.

More Stuff

Click More on the bottom navigation bar in the app to find helpful links and resources.

We’re all about doing more with less clicks. As we continue to evolve and improve, there’s no doubt we’ll experience a hiccup or two along the way. If anything ever feels wonky, use the Report A Bug feature to help us diagnose and resolve issues ASAP.

Why Pro is the Move

Build Trust

Gopher Pro/Pro+ badges make people feel safer, and therefore, more likely to use the app (and more Requesters = more Requests = more opportunities to make money).

Earn More

Gopher Pro/Pro+ members have a waaay better chance of being selected by Requesters, as well as having counter offers or bids accepted.

Get Opportunities

Gopher is often contracted for unique jobs that only Gopher Pro/Pro+ members are eligible to participate. *hint hint*

To become a Gopher Pro/Pro+, you’ll have to pass a background check administered by Yardstik. Learn more here.

How to Stay Active on the Marketplace

Avoid the following reasons for cancelling Requests:

  • Too far (distance is posted in advance — check before accepting)
  • Not enough money (earnings are clear from the start)
  • Didn’t mean to accept (hmm… that’d be A LOT of checkboxes and pop-up windows to “accidentally” click through)
  • Wasn’t clear on what needed to be done (DM the Requester before committing)

Update the status of your Request in real time.

Complete Requests in a timely and professional manner.

Always communicate respectfully.

Not seeing Requests yet? Hang tight!

Just keep those notifications on, and before you know it, you’ll be earning more per job than any other marketplace out there. Please follow us on Social Media to learn how you can help, and don’t forget to refer the app!
